Matang Jaya Gets MPP Service Counter
Friday, April 9, 2010
The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) announced that they will be opening their second Service Counter in E-Mart Lee Ling this year. The service counter can be used by the members of the public to pay assessment rates, apply for licences and lodge complaints as it will be operated in a shop lot during office hours from Monday to Friday. According to council chairman, Tan Joo Pooi, the service counters will be manned by councillors.
This service center is said to be sponsored by E-Mart, and it will be the second MPP service counter after the first one in Batu Kawah which is sponsored by the developers of MJC. Matang Jaya is said to have 15,000 families and it is expected to be a major housing and commercial area by 2020. The setting up of such a counter somewhat crushes and contradicts rumors that Matang Jaya will be placed under the jurisdiction of the Kuching City North Council (DBKU).
